Spurs star Dele Alli is the jack of all sports in the new BT commercial. But the striker may soon be the shock target for cash-rich Barcelona!
Insiders tell Football.com that Allli is top of Barca’s shopping list following the world record sale of Neymar to PSG.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is adamant that his star striker – a bargain $7m buy from MK Dons just a couple of years ago, isn’t going anywhere.
But with the proceeds of Neymar’s $260m buy-out clause burning a hole in Barcelona’s deep pockets, they may make an offer Spurs owner Daniel Levy will find impossible to resist.
“Dele is just 21 and he has everything it takes to be the new Neymar – he could be even better than the Brazilian,” said the insider. “Messi and Suarez have both given their stamp of approval. Expect an offer in the next couple of weeks and it’s going to be a doozie!”
In the meantime, the player is getting a lot of love on social media as a result of his BT bit.
Gareth Bale also features in the short film, as Alli is tackled by England lock Maro Itoje and sledged by Australian cricket captain Steve Smith during the Ashes.
Fans of NBA will also recognise Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green, who dunks a ball from the 21-year-old England international.
The idea behind the ad was to show BT’s variety of sport. It was unveiled at half-time of the Lionesses’ European Championship semi-final against Holland.
Allie certainly has the tekker skills to fit in at Barcelona…
